In light of the ugly sweater competition and the upcoming holidays, I thought it was time to spread some Christmas spirit!!!

Now, I don’t know if this is just me, but don’t you always find yourself doing nothing for most of Christmas day? You sit around, watch some movies and eat copious amounts, yes, but it’s always good to change it up a bit! Two top-notch games I fully recommend would be articulate and speak out.

Speak out consists of 5 mouthpieces and a set of phrases. You put in the mouthpieces and they basically spread your lips so you can’t speak properly. Then, each team has a set of phrases one participant has to say, whilst the others try and guess. It’s great later in the night once you’ve had a few drinks (hot chocolate, that is) because you don’t really have to concentrate too much, plus it’s a good laugh.

Differently, articulate is a game which requires quick thinking. You go around a board trying to figure out a word or phrase referring to a person, geography, nature, an action, an object or a random category. Each time you roll, a card is pulled out with an option from all of the above categories. Depending on where your token is you guess for one of the categories before the other team members. If you guess, you roll next.

Aside from games, other things you can do is stay active! A fun activity, especially for a larger group would be to head out and do some sledding! It might sound basic and boring, but it gets you out, ready for a meal and always turns out to be more fun than you think.

Lastly, you can’t do Christmas without festive attire (or The Holiday). I recommend “Party City” for some out of the ordinary antlers and Santa hats!
