Snake found in Woman's luggage!

A Scottish woman names Maria Boxall had recently arrived back home from a holiday in Australia when she found a snake curled up in her luggage. As she was unpacking, she observed a snake resting within one of her shoes. Ms Boxall had inadvertently brought the snake with her through the whole journey- from Queensland, Australia to Glasgow, Scotland. Initially believing the snake was fake, as she believed it was a joke, the woman was shocked when the snake moved when she touched it. The alarming story was told by Ms Boxhalls son in law, Paul Airlie, as it aired on Australian radio.

The snake was immediately taken outside and a relative contained the snake until Scottish SPCA (society for the prevention of cruelty to animals)  arrived. The snake was then identified to be a python, which is a non dangerous species that is not venomous.

Taylor Johnstone, rescue officer at the Scottish SPCA,  mentions that “When I arrived, the snake had been contained by the caller, so I safely removed the snake from the property. Currently, the snake is in quarantine at an animal rescue and rehoming center in Edinburgh.
