President Donald Trump nominated Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

On July 9th, President Donald Trump nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Since then, numerous women have accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault and abuse.

Palo Alto University professor Christine Blasey Ford wrote a letter to Rep. Anna Eshoo and Sen. Dianne Feinstein stating that she had been assaulted by Kavanaugh when the two were in high school. On the 16th of September, The Washington Post wrote an article confirming that Ford was the accuser as well as detailing the events that took place. “I thought he might inadvertently kill me,” Ford said regarding Kavanaugh’s behaviour that evening. She also said that she remembers Kavanaugh’s friend Mark Judge being present in the room that evening, and she was only able to escape after Judge jumped on top of Ford and Kavanaugh. Both Judge and Kavanaugh deny any of the accusations, adding that neither had done anything like this.

The New Yorker published an article with allegations from Deborah Ramirez, a former classmate of Kavanaugh’s when they attended Yale together. At a dorm party, Ramirez remembers Kavanaugh exposing himself to her, and another classmate clearly remembers hearing of this. This classmate has also stated that the incident had been a “big deal” at the time.

Julie Swetnick, who was present at some house parties that Kavanaugh and Judge attended, stated that she was one of the victims in a “gang rape.” Swetnick recalls boys putting drugs into drinks, consequently leading to the girl’s loss of inhabitation and their ability to say no. She is inclined to believe that her allegations should disqualify Kavanaugh, adding that “all things should be investigated.”
