This week of the 7th, 8th and 9th of February marks the performance week of this years school play – The Cocktail Party! Directed by myself, Ellie and Paula, we are very proud to present the work after over three months of planning, rehearsing, directing and designing.

The troubled couple

The play, written by T.S. Eliot in 1949, is a psychological comedy, that explores the conditions of the human condition based on the Ancient Greek play Alcestis by Euripides. Portraying a late search for the meaning of life, it features a mysterious strange therapist who attempts to mend a broken marriage between Edward and Lavinia Chamberlayne. Featuring engaging and humorous characters, the story is both thought-provoking, entertaining and devastating. Starring the acting talents of Joey, Rachel and Georgia, (among others) the play is a must see!

Come see it today at 5 PM or tomorrow at 7pm in the high school theatre! Tickets are 5 CHF for students and staff, and 10 CHF if you want to bring your parents along! 🙂 You can buy them on the door or reserve them by emailing Miss Allen.

The best part of this performance, is that all of our profits will go to an amazing organization – The Trevor Project – a suicide hotline for American LGBTQ+ youth. We are happy to be supporting such an important organization.

So for the sake of this theatrical and exciting week, go break a leg! The arts are a beautiful, incredible part of our school – and should remain as such! So, wish us luck and come out to support the crew!
