More success from the Varsity boys basketball team this weekend! They travelled to Geneva for the newly founded Swiss League tournament, and to say they were successful would be an understatement. The boys continue their undefeated streak this season, and won first place at this tournament.

On the first day, they played La Chat, Geneva and Nations in the group stage. Naturally, they won both of these games, proceeding onto the semi final stages on the following day. Gunnar H, co-captain, felt confident going into the second day as “we crushed everyone” in the group stages.

Second day they played in the semi final against CDL and won easily, proceeding onto the championship game against Nations, who they already played. The co-captains stated that their semi final game was more difficult than the final because the final was a team who they have already played against.

They then played Nations once again in the Championship game, beating them just as easily as they did the previous day.

The team remains undefeated throughout the season, and co-captain Toni R hopes that “next year the varsity team will actually have some competition”. As cocky as it may sound, the team this year is truly undefeated, and has had hardly any difficulty in winning their games.

We wish them the best of luck for next weekend, when they travel to Barcelona for their final tournament of the season. Team member Kenny N hopes that they will “keep up our winning streak” and “hopefully win our third and final trophy of the season”. There has never been a fully successful team in the history of varsity basketball, so we’re all hoping for a clean sweep this season. Go Eagles!
